Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- - Physically capable of lifting 80 lbs, working outside, and being on your feet all day in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- - Knowledge of materials and job-site processes used in the construction industry (preferred but not required).
- - Willing to operate heavy machinery and a chop saw. No prior certifications needed; we will certify you at our lumber yard.
- - Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet varied and conflicting organizational demands.
- - Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented and accurate.
- - Ability to anticipate, analyze, and proactively solve problems.
- - Reliable and responsible to work without constant supervision.
- - Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
As a Warehouse Staff Member at Rice Lumber, you will be an integral part of our daily operation. Your responsibilities will include:
- - Assist customers with their lumber and building material needs in a professional and friendly manner, provide exceptional service at all times.
- - Prepare orders for delivery or customer pickup with accuracy and efficiency.
- - Consistently communicate with customers and Operations Leadership to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner.
- - Support with inventory management, receive and inspect incoming shipments, ensure all products have been invoiced, conduct regular stock counts, reporting discrepancies.
- - Organize and store products in designated areas, maintain a clean, orderly and fully-stocked warehouse.
- - Willingly take on additional responsibilities, challenges, and duties as required.
- - Adhere to safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment
- - Work an 8-hour shift Monday - Friday with a one-hour lunch break. During Summer Hours (April - November), work two Saturdays a month from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
