Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- - Valid CDL Class B license (preferred) with a clean driving record.
- - Previous delivery experience and experience driving a boom truck (preferred).
- - Industry experience and/or knowledge of job-site processes used in the construction industry (preferred).
- - Physically capable of lifting 80 lbs, working outside, and being on your feet in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- - Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet varied and conflicting organizational demands.
- - Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented and accurate.
- - Commitment to safety and adherence to all traffic laws and regulations.
- - Willingness to support and assist others in load building to increase efficiency and customer experience.
- - Reliable and responsible to work without constant supervision.
Responsibilities:
As a Delivery Driver at Rice Lumber Company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. Your responsibilities will include:
- - Safely operate our delivery vehicles by adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- - Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling and securing of products.
- - Prepare orders for delivery or customer pickup with accuracy and efficiency.
- - Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition; keep vehicles clean and orderly.
- - Seek opportunities to maximize travel efficiency and deliver materials in a timely manner.
- - Maintain accurate delivery records and complete any required paperwork or documentation.
- - Interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner, providing exceptional service at all times.
- - Collaborate with the warehouse team and Operation Leadership to ensure accurate order fulfillment and expedient deliveries.
- - Willingness to take on additional responsibilities, challenges, and duties as required.
- - Work an 8-hour shift Monday - Friday. During Summer Hours (April - November), work two Saturdays a month from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
